Leftroom Limited, the cutting edge offshoot label to the unstoppable Leftroom Records, are proud to present rising artist Kaysand’s ‘Do You Remember Who You Were?’
Sperotto’s individual approach to production is showcased in this release as he integrates his musical background in singing and drumming with different beats in an exploration of the boundaries of techno, house and funk, all underlined in a deep and groovy style.
This EP packs a serious punch, delivering rolling, smooth basslines, jacking drums and filtered pads to move the most discerning of dancefloors. Harking back to classic French filter house, with a contemporary twist that sounds very 2011, Sperotto is clearly a man who understands the dancefloor, whilst still maintaining musical integrity. He manages to combine both the hypnotic and the raw.
To complement the package Leftroom head honcho, Matt Tolfrey calls on the services of another underground leading light in the form of Leon. His stock has risen dramatically with key releases on Cecille Numbers and Rebirth of late and his remix brings new elements to the package. Stripping the groove back to its barest essentials and adding an earth shattering bassline, his ‘Disko remix’ showcases his illustrious style.
Music has shaped Francesco Sperotto’s life since he was a child and Kaysand, his latest pseudonym, is in fact a piece of the puzzle. His first artistic influences came from Los Angeles (Primus), Blackpool (Robert James Smith) and London, precisely from Brixton (Basement Jaxx). After having relocated and moved his studio to Berlin, he got in touch with a lot of artists in town and started new collaborations. He delivered vocals and rhythmics for Mike Shannon’s last album for with tINI for the label Locodice Desolat. Also a member of duo Chronic Flakes alongside Alex Picone, he is a welcome addition to the growing Leftroom family of labels.
